From party project to holistic social project
At a European strategy meeting in Innsbruck, 21 delegates from Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland discussed the questions: Where does dynamic5 stand today? What direction is it heading in? The reason for this was the concession that our quantitative target of enrolling three to four thousand members in two to three years, thus enabling us to be financially self-supporting, could not be achieved. Despite this there were no signs of discouragement in Innsbruck, on the contrary, one could sense a keen spirit to move forward. The work covered until now, successful establishment of basic structures in several countries, plus the readiness of 500 members to support the ideas and values of dynamic5, all served as the stimulus to carry on.
At the same time, however, new accents were placed at Innsbruck. For instance it became clear to us all that what dynamic5 as a long-term project requires of us is persistence, patience and perseverance. Instead of allowing quantitative aims to place us under pressure of time, we shall allow dynamic5 to develop itself gradually, inwardly consolidating itself and at the same time growing and increasing in its effect outside.
The decision to no longer define dynamic5 as a party project but as a holistic social project marks a turning point. Our objectives remain the same we are now ready to pursue them. dynamic5 is essentially a political project now as before, it will put spiritually-founded politics into practice, and will become an expansive coalition of spiritually-minded people who wish to articulate themselves politically. The founding of a party, however, is no longer the prime object; we wish to widen the spectrum of options and thus also encourage people to join us who were sceptical towards the idea of a party and found it restrictive, exclusive and untimely.
The new strategy is the consequence of a pragmatic analysis of the achievements made and the weaknesses found until now. This shows that dynamic5 has the will and ability for self-criticism and change, the readiness to be constantly on the look-out for the best way to achieve our goals, the vision that encourages and spurs us forward.
With the change of direction from a party- to a social project, the texts of our basic documents have in part become obselete. Since revision of all texts will involve a lot of work and printing costs, it will be done step by step. This does not appear serious to us, because the vision and the aims described in the documents are not affected by the change in strategy. For this reason some of the texts of our website still speak of party project and the objective of founding a party, although this does not reflect the latest development. We ask you to please bear with us for this minor discrepancy.
